Tech-Air® 5 is Alpinestars' autonomous airbag system specifically designed for road riders who demand top-tier protection in a versatile, slim profile. The system delivers a comprehensive upper-body coverage, including shoulders, chest, ribs, and full back. With its unique shoulder protection—critical in street crashes—Tech-Air® 5 significantly reduces the risk of injury, redefining road safety. Tech-Air® 5 can be worn under any proper fitting textile jacket or Tech-Air® compatible jacket, or any leather jacket with 4 cm of space around the circumference of the rider’s chest.

    - 6 integrated sensors: 3 accelerometers and 3 gyroscopes.
    - AI-driven crash detection algorithm refined using millions of kilometers of rider data.
    - Airbag deploys in 20–40 milliseconds depending on size and impact.

    - Equivalent to wearing 18 CE Level 1 back protectors.

  • Compatible with any textile jacket (with 4 cm of room around the chest) and most leather jackets with expansion panels or additional space.
  • Constructed as a fully self-contained, wearable vest, it delivers industry-leading coverage and impact absorption—engineered to perform in real-world crashes.

Milestones include Tech-Air® Race (2011), Tech-Air® Street (2014), and Tech-Air® 5, launched in 2020. Due to regulations for transport of dangerous goods by air (IATA) and road (ADR), consumers are not permitted to ship Tech-Air® products themselves for return or servicing. In the event of a return or service request you must therefore deliver the goods in person to one of our Tech-Air® Hubs. Please ensure you first contact our Customer Care team to receive confirmation of the correct Hub and approval before visiting.

Tech-Air® Hubs are currently available in select countries. Additional locations across Europe will be launched soon.
