Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin went head to head in an intense MotoGP race in Malaysia, trading paint and swapping places in the opening laps before Bagnaia seized the high ground, taking the lead and never looking back to claim his tenth victory of the season.

He was joined on the podium by Jorge Martin in second and Enea Bastianini in third.

Alex Marquez finished fourth, Pedro Acosta fifth, Fabio Quartararo sixth, Maverick Vinales seventh and Alex Rins eighth; all Alpinestars riders.

The result means the championship title fight rolls onto the final round with a gap of 24 points splitting the pair.
