The Atem V5 Leather Jacket is a racing jacket engineered and optimized for sportsbike and naked sportsbike riders, and features extensive race-derived features, technology and materials including a dedicated ‘Race’ fit with pre-curved arms maximum riding performance, Alpinestars Flex Plus ‘Race’ leather throughout, race-proven protection on the shoulders and elbows, while delivering optimum levels of rider comfort.

  • Extensive technical stretch panels under the arms, on the inner arms, and around the neck for an optimized fit.
  • Alpinestars composite stretch technology, A-CS® Plus, stretch panels on the torso for exceptional breathability, comfort, and freedom of movement, as well as delivering a lighter weight and a lower profile than a traditional leather accordion panel (the A-CS® Plus panels are about 9% lighter than leather panels). Another key advantage of using A-CS® Plus is its superior stretch performance; A-CS® Plus has about 30% elongation, and offers an increase in tear resistance of 300% compared to HRSF (Hyper Resistant Stretch Fiber), and an increase in cut resistance by 600% versus leather.

What is A-CS® Plus and why does it matter for a leather jacket?
A-CS® Plus (Alpinestars Composite Stretch technology, Plus generation) is a technical fabric used in place of leather accordion panels on the torso. It provides 30% elongation for unrestricted movement in the riding position, while delivering 300% greater tear resistance and 600% greater cut resistance than HRSF (the previous-generation stretch material). The panels are also 10% lighter than leather, contributing to the Atem V5's lower overall weight and reduced fatigue on long rides.
What protection level does the Atem V5 include, and what is optional?
The Atem V5 includes Nucleon Flex Plus CE Level 1 shoulder armor and GP elbow armor (CE Level 1). No back or chest protector is included as standard. The jacket features dedicated pockets compatible with Alpinestars Nucleon back protectors and split chest protectors (sold separately). For riders wanting Level 2 armor as standard in a jacket, see the Missile V3 Ignition.
Is the Atem V5 compatible with the Alpinestars Tech-Air airbag system?

Yes. The Atem V5 is compatible with the Tech-Air® 5 and Tech-Air® 3 systems, with the vest zipping into the jacket and connecting via the Tech-Air port.
It is also Tech-Air® Ready, meaning it can accommodate other Tech-Air® systems. However, systems like the Tech-Air® 7x are designed for race-specific garments, so the fit and performance may not be fully optimized on this jacket.
For best results, Tech-Air® 5 and Tech-Air® 3 remain the recommended systems for the Atem V5.
How does the Atem V5 compare to the GP Force V2 and Missile V3 Ignition?
The GP Force V2 uses standard bovine leather with CE Level 1 armor — the all-round versatile choice for sport and naked bike riders on a budget.
