Frequently asked questions Hide FAQs
How does the GP-R7 Leather Suit fit, and how should I choose my size?
The GP-R7 Leather Suit - 1 Piece has a race fit with pre-curved arms, legs, and body for the riding position. Leather accordion panels at the shoulder blades, lower back, and knees work with HRSF stretch inserts to support movement.
The Black Mid Red version is listed in men's sizes 44–62, in increments of two. Compare your measurements with the Alpinestars size guide and assess the fit in a riding position with your intended base layers and protection.
What CE rating and armor does the GP-R7 Leather Suit have?
The GP-R7 is CE-certified to EN 17092-2:2020, AAA class. Its 1.3 mm race-grade bovine leather construction includes dual layers in critical areas, while Nucleon PLASMA Pro CE Level 2 armor protects the shoulders, elbows, knees, and shins.
AAA is the garment classification, separate from the armor's impact-protection level. Nucleon PLASMA Race Chest and Level 2 Full Back protectors are optional accessory upgrades, not included protectors.
Which Tech-Air airbag systems are compatible with the GP-R7 Leather Suit?
The GP-R7 is Tech-Air® Ready, with listed compatibility for the Tech-Air® 10 Race Airbag System, Tech-Air® 7X System, and Tech-Air® 5 Plasma System. It accommodates an optional Tech-Air® 7X wired LED display and includes a Tech-Air® 10 Bluetooth display pocket.
When choosing your size, follow the selected airbag system's fit and clearance requirements as well as the suit size guide.
Is the GP-R7 Leather Suit ventilated for hot-weather riding?
Yes. The GP-R7 has extensive perforations across the torso and thighs, with perforated leather panels and localized perforations on the arms to promote airflow. Its ventilated Nucleon PLASMA Pro armor also supports breathability during performance riding.
Is the GP-R7 Leather Suit designed for track days or road riding?
The GP-R7 is designed for trackday riders, racers, and advanced road riders. Its one-piece construction, race-fit ergonomics, replaceable GP knee sliders, and DFS RR elbow slider with replaceable insert support performance riding on road or track.
The Supertech R10 aero hump is engineered to complement the Alpinestars Supertech R10 Helmet when the rider is tucked into a racing crouch.
